The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Thursday, secured a quarter finals slot following their 1-0 defeat of Botswana in the ongoing Women’s African Cup of Nations, WAFCON.
Substitute Chinwendu Ihezuo scored an 89th-minute winner to hand Nigeria victory over Botswana in their Group B clash at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca.
Ihezuo latched onto a low cross from Esther Okoronkwo to tap in at the back post, her second goal of the tournament, securing the Super Falcons’ spot in the quarter-finals.
Nigeria will play Algeria in their last group game while Botswana face a tough battle against Tunisia to keep their WAFCON hopes alive.
